Curl was originally derived from the braided insignias on the epaulets and sleeves of naval personnel and represents a structure that hints at naval architecture; referencing the bicentennial sculptures that were installed in Plymouth and Circular Quay.

This piece, informed by visits to the site and casual conversations with local workers, dog walkers, passer-by’s, is one of two pieces of public art within the estate – the other being Rivercraft.
